Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that women in India were empowered even when they had fewer rights and are equally empowered now when they have all the rights.
Yadav was speaking in ‘CM Ki Pathshala’ at the Women's Polytechnic College here on Wednesday.
Narrating the inspirational saga of Maharani Durgavati and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the chief minister said that they not only ruled with their courage, valour, valour and skill but also set an example in strengthening the administrative system.
“The life of both was not easy, there were many struggles, obstacles, difficulties, hardships in their lives, yet they did not give up and ultimately they achieved their goal by fighting and struggling with all the difficulties,” he said.
Yadav further said that not only Madhya Pradesh but the entire country is celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai.
He further said that on May 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Bhopal to attend the ‘Mahila Sashaktikarang Maha Sammelan’ being organised in the memory of Ahilyabai at Jamboree Maidan. He invited students to attend the event and take inspiration from the personality and work of Ahilyabai.
