Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the months of April and May of the current financial year, West Central Railway earned a total originating revenue of Rs 1520.70 crore , which is Rs 1413.79 crore originating revenue compared to the same period last year.
This originating revenue shows an increase of about 8 percent. As far as item wise income on originating revenue of the last two months, the railway has received revenue of Rs 416.07 crore from passenger traffic, Rs 1022.92 crore from goods traffic, Rs 31.73 crore 73 lakh in other coaching item and Rs 49.98 crore 98 from miscellaneous income i.e. sundry.
As per railway, following efforts are being made by WCR for passenger traffic like operating period of special trains running from WCR is being extended and Additional coaches are being added to clear the waiting list in passenger trains.
Similarly, the duration of experimental halts available in West Central Railway is being increased keeping in mind the convenience of passengers and speed of passenger trains has been increased by speeding up the infrastructure works and special attention is being paid to punctuality.
The following efforts are being made by WCR for goods traffic like capacity of different rail sections has been increased and infrastructure has been enhanced by increasing the average speed of goods trains and Round the clock loading and unloading services are being provided in goods warehouses.
Efforts are being made to increase Gati Shakti cargo terminal / siding and Infrastructure works like new rail line / doubling / tripling are being speeded up. Operational improvements are also being made in goods trains. The working of goods terminal has been improved and detention of goods trains has been reduced.
