Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): BJP MLA from Bhopal Rameshwar Sharma has made a strong and controversial statement, saying that "Love Jihad" and "Land Jihad" are two sides of the islamic extremism.

Speaking to the media, Sharma said, “Whether it is Love Jihad or Land Jihad, it shows the extremist side of Islam.” He also said that such people should be punished harshly, even saying, “They should be beaten with shoes.”

He said that these are forms of Islamic extremism and claimed that strict action should be taken against those involved.

Sharma accused some Muslim men of pretending to be Hindu in order to trap Hindu girls. He said, “When Hindus tie a sacred thread or apply tilak, it is said that Islam is in danger. But to fool Hindu girls, they themselves wear tilak, tie raksha sutra, and even change their names.”

He further claimed that once the girls are trapped, they are mistreated and harmed. “After marrying Hindu girls, they do wrong things with them. In some cases, they even kill them and throw their bodies in suitcases,” he said.

Sharma called such people "criminals" and "terrorists", and said they should be given strict punishment. He stressed that this is not just a social issue, but also a threat to safety and peace.

His comments have gone viral and are drawing strong reactions from both supporters and critics. No official case has been reported in relation to his statement so far.

Authorities have not yet responded publicly, but the matter is likely to stir more debate in the coming days.
