Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Over a dozen masked liquor smugglers attacked and vandalised a contractor’s office in the Barela area of Jabalpur on May 12.
The attack was carried out as revenge for a police tip-off given by the contractor about illegal liquor selling, which led to arrests.
The incident took place on the night of May 12. They had sticks and iron rods. They broke cars, damaged the office, and beat up the workers.
The whole attack was caught on CCTV cameras installed in the area.

According to information, the attack happened suddenly at night. The men came with their faces covered. First, they broke the cars parked outside the office. Then they went inside and vandalised the office by breaking chairs, tables, and other things. When the workers tried to stop them, the smugglers hit them badly.
Police believe the attack was done to take revenge. A few days earlier, the police had caught some people selling liquor illegally near a roadside food stall.
This action was taken after the contractor gave information to the police. The smugglers were angry and planned the attack.
One injured worker, Vipin Kushwaha, said they were working late at night when the masked men came and started hitting everyone. He said everything happened so fast that they could not understand what was going on. He also said it looked like the attackers wanted to kill someone.
Police officer Suryakant Sharma said a report has been filed, and the police are trying to find the people involved. He said they will be caught soon and strict action will be taken.
The incident has caused fear in the area. Other shop owners and contractors are worried that something like this could happen to them too.
The police said they are taking the matter seriously and are using CCTV footage to catch the attackers quickly.
