Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): A half dozen people were injured after a large branch of a peepal tree suddenly fell in Bhind’s busy vegetable market on Monday.

One person suffered serious head injuries and was referred to Gwalior for further treatment, while the others were treated for minor injuries.

According to information, the incident occurred when the old tree’s branch broke off, crashing down into the crowded market where buyers and sellers were present.

The unexpected accident caused panic, and bystanders quickly helped the injured before contacting the police.

Among the injured were Akash Singh Kushwaha from New Kushwaha Colony, Seetu from Aligarh, Muloo from Subhash Nagar, and Akash, son of Pramod Singh Jadon from Subhash Chauraha.

One of them had severe head injuries, while another had only minor wounds and was sent home after receiving first aid.

Following the incident, police arrived at the scene to assist with relief efforts.

The market area was temporarily cordoned off, and the tree's remaining branches are being checked for any further risks.

According to Kotwali TI Brajendra Singh Sengar, six people were injured, with one sent to Gwalior, two hospitalised, and three others treated for minor injuries.
