Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia won the hearts of netizens by taking a gutka (tobacco) packet away from a woman and advising her to quit chewing tobacco. A video of the incident is being widely circulated on social media.
According to information, minister Scindia was in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri on Thursday, where he spotted a woman chewing gutka. Here, he stopped her and questioned, “Gutka kha rahi ho…. (Are you chewing tobacco?)”
As the woman nodded yes, Scindia counter-questioned, “Gutka mat khao behen, Kyon kha rahi ho?.....(Why are you chewing tobacco?).”
While the woman could only smile in her defence, Scindia kept on warning her politely, “Tumko malum hai na bura hai…Tumko malum hai na bimari hoti hai…Maine pakad liya na tumko aaj…..(You know it’s bad for health, right?…You know it causes cancer, don’t you?.....See, I caught you today!)”

Minister take woman’s nicotine packet away
Minister Scindia then asked the woman to take out the packet of gutka from her bag and took it away. He said, “Bag se nikalo gutka, tabhi jane dunga…(Take it out, only then I’ll let you go!)”
With this the woman handed over her nicotine-packet to Scindia obediently, and the minister ordered his people to throw it away.
After this, Scindia also comforted the woman saying, “Ab itni dukhi mat dikho ki maine tumhari Supari le li…(Don’t be so sad that I took your betel nut.)”
Scindia stole the spotlight through his gesture of spreading awareness against tobacco and other harmful substances. The video is being widely spread on social media.
