Pithampur Fire: Massive Fire Breaks Out At PVC Pipe Factory; 12 Fire Brigades, 25 Sand Dumpers Run Non-Stop For 9 Hours To Douse Flames

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): One thousand liters of foam, 25 dumpers of sand, water from 12 fire brigades and a battle of nine long hours… It took all this and endless efforts of the rescue teams to douse the massive fire at PVC Pithampur factory on Friday noon!

The fire broke during the early hours of Friday, however the reason is yet to be ascertained. The flammable pipes further triggered the flames and the fire soon engulfed the entire factory.

The cause of the fire remains uncertain yet

After being alerted, authorities reacted vigorously, Fire brigade reached the spot and battled the scorch. The administration officials also arrived at the site of blaze. Besides water, multiple methods including extinguishing foam and sand were used to bring the flames in control.

Early in the morning, flames rapidly increased due to the highly-inflammable raw material. Two cranes parked in the company turned into ashes after the blaze. The final damage and financial loss is yet to be assessed. Fortunately, there was no loss of life, SDRF official confirmed.

Fire broke out in June last year too

On 11 June 2024, a fire broke out in the same factory. It was brought under control in 11 hours. More than 20 fire engines were engaged in controlling the fire. First water and foam were used.

When the flame did not stop spreading, sand and soil were called in more than 25 dumpers. The boundary wall of the rear part of the company was broken. From here the fire brigade went inside and extinguished the fire.
