Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): A 23-year-old youth died on the spot after a speeding truck ran over him in Shivpuri on Wednesday.
It is reported that the driver was drunk and in high speed.
The youth was identified as Ankit Gupta, from Kolaras area and the CCTV footage of the incident was released late Wednesday evening.

The footage reveals a fast-moving truck first hitting an ice cream cart and then running over Ankit, who was riding a scooter. The driver did not take any safety measures and crushed the young man.
A man sitting outside a shop was hit by the cart and thrown to the ground. Many others walking on the road were also thrown off balance by the impact.

According to information, the accident happened near Axis Bank while Ankit was returning home on his scooter. He died on the spot. Ankit was the only son of his parents.
Eyewitnesses said the truck driver was drunk. Before hitting Ankit, the truck had already collided with an ice cream cart and a bike.
After the accident, angry locals blocked AB Road and NH-46 to protest.
Police struggled to control the crowd. Now, after the video surfaced, people’s anger has grown.

The police arrested the truck driver immediately after the accident. Following the release of the CCTV footage, Ankit’s family and locals demanded that the driver be charged with murder.
Kolaras TI Ravi Chauhan said the accused driver, Vipin Dhakad from Wara, Rajasthan, was arrested and was drunk. The driver claimed he tried to save the ice cream cart, which led to the accident.
