Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Bringing much-needed relief to farmers amid the ongoing Kharif season, a urea rack carrying 2613.6 metric tonnes of fertilizer from IPL Company reached Jabalpur on Saturday night.

To ensure timely supply, the Agriculture Department has already prepared a distribution plan.

Deputy Director Agriculture Dr. S.K. Nigam informed that 70 percent of the received urea is being sent to government double lock centers and the remaining 30 percent to private fertilizer sellers.

“The entire stock will be delivered to all double lock centers of the district by Sunday evening, and distribution to farmers will begin from Monday morning,” Dr. Nigam said.

On Sunday, Dr. Nigam along with Zonal Manager Hirendra Raghuvanshi inspected Rack Point Kachpura. During the visit, the transporter was instructed to ensure quick and safe delivery of urea as per the prescribed guidelines. IPL Company official Varun Shivhare and transporter Anand Kapoor were also present during the inspection.

With this planned and prompt distribution, the district administration aims to address fertilizer shortages and support farmers during the crucial sowing period.

The Agriculture Department also informed that DAP (dia-ammonium phosphate) fertilizer is available in sufficient quantity in the district, although at present its demand is negligible.

Dr Nigam said that “another rack of urea will reach Jabalpur in the coming two-three days, due to which the supply will remain smooth. The department is trying to make fertilizer available to farmers on time as per the need of the fields, so that there is no impact on the productivity of the crop.”
