Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two separate incidents of suicide have been reported from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal , where a 15-year-old schoolgirl and a 23-year-old newly married man ended their lives by consuming poison on Tuesday. Police have registered separate cases and initiated investigations.
In the first incident which unfolded in Bairasia area, a Class 11 student, Arushi Yadav, daughter of the late Chandramohan, consumed poison on Monday night at her home in Hingoni village.
According to Bairasia Police Station in-charge Virendra Kumar Sen, the girl had been in depression since her father’s suicide about one and a quarter months ago.
Family members rushed her to a private hospital in critical condition, but she died during treatment on Tuesday morning. Her body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
In the second incident, Pradeep Yadav, son of Lakhan Yadav and a resident of Nidanpur village, took his own life by consuming a sulphas tablet on Monday evening.
The 23-year-old, who had been living in Bairasia and running a restaurant, had married in November last year. His father is a farmer. Despite being taken to a private hospital, he succumbed during treatment. Police have sent his body for post-mortem and handed it over to his relatives.
Authorities are investigating both cases to ascertain the exact reasons behind the suicides.
