Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that within three years, water from Sindhu (Indus) river would flow to Ganga Nagar, ensuring irrigation across a vast area.
Addressing the inaugural session of BJP’s three-day training camp in Pachmarhi, Shah said that Pakistan will struggle for every drop of water, linking it to recent geopolitical developments. “After the Pahalgam attack, we stopped Sindhu water agreement, which was signed during Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s time. A strong message has been sent to those who bleed India,” Shah said.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Shah claimed that the Pakistani army headquarters was targeted and suffered heavy damage. He accused terrorists in Pahalgam of killing victims based on their religion and said Pakistan is now facing a food crisis, having to import cereals from foreign countries.
Shah said that no youth in Jammu and Kashmir is now picking up arms, and Naxal violence has been nearly eradicated. “Since the Modi government came to power, we’ve ensured national unity and internal security,” he said.
He highlighted the abrogation of Article 370, stating that it ended the constitutional divide between Jammu & Kashmir and the rest of India. He also criticised Congress, especially former PM Nehru, for policies that lacked cultural roots and were heavily influenced by the West.
He reminded people that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee resigned from Nehru’s cabinet when Article 370 was imposed and founded Jan Sangh, which later evolved into the BJP.
Praising Modi government’s achievements, Shah said BJP now governs 18 states and has transformed the so-called BIMARU states—Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. “Modiji has changed the lives of crores. Today, 80 crore people receive 5 kg of free ration,” he said.
India is now the world’s fourth largest economy, and Shah said it would become the third-largest by the end of Modi’s current term. He also lauded Madhya Pradesh for its success in the BJP membership drive.
CM backs PM Modi’s record
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, also present at the event, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11 years in power. He said India’s military had effectively dismantled terror camps supported by Pakistan. He credited Modi with bold decisions like building Ram temple and abrogating Article 370.
