Seoni (Madhya Pradesh): A 20-year-old youth drowned in a river while trying to catch his floating slipper in the gushing waters in Madhya Pradesh's Seoni on Saturday. The victim's body was recovered the SDRF team during a search operation on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Ayush Yadav. He had gone to Parewa Khoh with his friends for a picnic when the incident happened.
The disturbing video has gone viral on social media, where Ayush can be seen using a wooden stick to fetch out his slipper from the river. The slipper continued to float away with the strong current. As he leaned forward further to reach it, he lost his balance and slipped into the river. Unfortuantely, he got swept away by the river current.

According to information, the incident happened on Saturday at Parewa Khoh, a popular tourist spot in the Adegaon police station area.
The video of the incident has now surfaced online.
The youth, identified as Ayush Yadav, was a resident of Ward No. 14 in Lakhnadon. He had gone to Parewa Khoh with five of his friends for a picnic. While they were near the river, one of Ayush's slippers accidentally fell into the water.
Ayush tried to take it out using a wooden stick and was almost successful.
The river had a strong current, and he was swept away before he could be helped.
His friends immediately informed the authorities. A team from SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) launched a search operation.
Ayush’s body was recovered from the river on Sunday afternoon.
