Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Five people were reported to be seriously injured after a lift of a private hotel collapsed from a height of 20 feet on Thursday afternoon in Gwalior. Four of them suffered leg fractures. All the injured were admitted to a private hospital. When municipal corporation team reached the hotel to probe the incident, the management people fled.

This major accident took place at Hotel Royal Inn located in the city centre of Gwalior. According to the information, the lift of the hotel stuttered and fell down from a height of about 20 feet.

During the accident, five people were inside the lift and all 5 got injured after falling down. Injured people were immediately taken to the hospital by and plaster has been applied to 4 people who suffered leg fractures.

The injured told that they had come to attend the seminar of Hans Agro organized in the basement of the hotel. People present at the moment told that “it seems like the maintenance of the lift must not have been done.”

On the other hand, as soon as the information about the accident was received, the municipal corporation team also reached the spot. When the people of the corporation's lift team investigated, the NOC was not seen outside the hotel's lift. The hotel management people were also not ready to tell anything.
