Committees play an important role: PS
Sharing information about the meeting, Principal Secretary of MP Assembly AP Singh said, "These committees play an important role in the control of the legislature over the executive in the legislative, financial, and administrative fields."
He further said that a resolution was passed in the Centenary Year Conference of All India Presiding Officers held in Himachal Pradesh's capital, Shimla, to make the committee system more effective.
This committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Lok Sabha Speaker and the Speaker of our state. Its first meeting has been called today.
The budget goes to committees in Lok Sabha.
In the meeting, Narendra Singh Tomar said, "Parliament and Vidhan Sabhas have an important role in the democratic system of our country. Whether it is a session of Parliament or a session of Vidhan Sabhas, micro monitoring of the sessions can be next to impossible. That is why our ancestors started the system of forming committees. Even the budget is discussed in the committees of Lok Sabha."
When the budget session takes place, after a break in between, the entire budget goes to the committees. The committees study it and give suggestions. After that, the budget comes to the Lok Sabha after being revised, and then it is passed. Similarly, there is a system of committees in Vidhan Sabhas as well, he added.

Committees inspect and tour
There are four financial committees in our MP which are elected. Apart from this, there are two committees for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and backward class which are elected. There are remaining 15-16 committees in which names are nominated by the Speaker from the ruling and opposition parties.
Those committees tour, study, inspect and if needed, call the government for discussions.
Work is increasing in Legislative Assemblies: Tomar
Narendra Singh Tomar further emphasised on giving more autonomy to these committees, to improve efficiency.
