Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Lokayukta police arrested two persons in separate cases for accepting bribes. One of the accused is a sarpanch and the other is a cluster principal.
Dudi gram panchayat sarpanch Gopichand Kol was caught taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Dhaniya Bai Patel to provide widow pension and ration slip to receive financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh under Sambal Yojna.
Dhaniya Bai approached the sarpanch multiple times for several days, but he kept delaying. On May 5, when the woman approached him again, the sarpanch demanded a bribe of Rs 35,000 for preparing the slip.
The very next day, the woman lodged a complaint at Jabalpur Lokayukta office. The allegations were found to be true during the investigation. On Thursday, when Dhaniya Bai gave first instalment of the bribe, Rs 10,000, to the sarpanch where the accused was caught taking bribe.

Government High School Mohas, Bargi cluster principal Jinesh Kumar Jain was arrested while accepting Rs 4,000 from primary school teacher Madan Singh Pandro, who is posted at Primary School Chulha Ghati Bargi for forwarding the file for promotion.
Pandro filed a complaint with Lokayukta that his promotion was due after completion of 12 years of service, but the principal was demanding Rs 5,000 in exchange for forwarding the file to senior officials.
After verifying the complaint, on May 8, the Lokayukta team arrested Jain. The case is registered against the accused persons under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
