Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, the Central Jail in Jabalpur issued new guidelines on Tuesday for meetings between brothers and sisters.
This Raksha Bandhan, sisters visiting their jailed brothers at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Central Jail in Jabalpur will be allowed to carry only a special Rakhi kit, provided by the jail administration.
The step has been taken as part of new security guidelines issued by the prison authorities ahead of the festival.

According to the new rule, sisters will no longer be allowed to carry any personal items or gifts inside the jail during Raksha Bandhan.
Instead, they can now bring only a pre-packed Rakhi kit, which will be provided by the jail authorities themselves.
Speaking to the media, Jailer Madan Kamlesh said,
“This decision has been taken for the safety of inmates and to avoid any misuse of the occasion. The rakhi kit will include a sweet, rakhi, handkerchief, fruits, and kumkum.”

The cost of the kit will be just ₹50, and it will be made available at the jail for all visiting sisters. Jail staff will also ensure that the kits are properly checked and handed over safely.
This step ensures that the festival is celebrated with love and emotion, while also maintaining strict security protocols. The jail management has urged families to cooperate and follow the rules peacefully.
