Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The MP government will run buses on the pattern of Uber through PPP mode without buying new buses. A state-level holding company will be set up with the Chief Minister as its chairman. These issues came up at a meeting that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held with the officials on Wednesday to restart state bus services.
Seven regional companies will be set up under the holding company. Transport committees will also be formed under the companies to be established in seven divisions. A proposal will be put up before the next cabinet meeting to form these companies. Various routes will be surveyed before it. At which place traffic is available will also be estimated. The city buses will also be brought under these companies which will arrange for urban, rural, inter-city and inter-state services.

Operators will be selected through tenders on the basis of bus routes, and the companies will issue permits. Yadav told the officials to start bus service as soon as possible and that the work should be done within time limit. The bus routes should be made in such a way that both rural and urban people get the benefit of it, he said. To provide facilities to passengers and to run buses in a better way, updated IT technology solutions will be used.
E-ticket, mobile App, bus tracking, information about occupancy and payment facilities will be provided to passengers. Operator App, video audit, software, field audit and dashboard will be arranged for contractual operators. The state and division-level companies will use the board for control command centre software and a booking platform for bus-auto-taxi metro. Besides providing online e-booking facility, the movements of buses will be properly monitored.
