Rewa (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident was reported from Madhya Pradesh's Rewa, where a man allegedly strangled his minor wife to death, apparently, after she returned late from work.

The incident happened in a rented house in the Kuthuliya area on Sunday. Police solved the case within 24 hours and arrested the accused.

The deceased has been identified as Jasmin alias Ulfat Jahan.

According to information, Jasmin had been married to Mohammad Saif Khan for about one and a half years.

She worked at a clothing store in the city and often returned home late due to work. This led to regular arguments between the couple.

On the day of the incident, Saif lost his temper during one such fight and killed his wife by strangling her with a scarf. After the murder, he locked the room from outside and fled the scene.

Neighbors reported a foul smell coming from the locked room the next day. Police broke open the door and found the girl’s body inside. A case was registered, and the body was sent for post-mortem.

Saif was caught near the Silpara Bypass soon after.

During questioning, he confessed to the crime. He is now in police custody, and further investigation is underway.
