Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh): A 30-year-old mentally unstable man allegedly killed his father using a mace from a temple over property dispute in Madhya Pradesh's Khajuraho on Monday.
The accused named Ram Pal, also attacked his cousin Mahesh Pal (25), who is now in serious condition and has been admitted to the hospital.
A video of the incident has surfaced, showing Rampal with his hands tied, shouting that he drank his father’s blood. A police Dial-100 vehicle and some villagers can also be seen in the footage.
According to information, the incident happened early Monday morning around 5:30 AM. The mace was from a Hanuman temple in Bharwa village, Khajuraho.
The fight was over ancestral land. According to villagers, Rampal's mental health worsens during the summer, and he has been receiving treatment for years. He has three brothers and often argued with his father over land division. He also wanted to claim his grandfather’s land.
The deceased’s relative, Surendra Pal, informed the police about the incident.

Eyewitnesses said that on Monday morning, Rampal got into an argument with his father and grandfather. In anger, he went to the nearby Hanuman temple, picked up a mace, and started hitting his father. His father, Manku Pal (55), died on the spot due to the brutal attack.
After the murder, another video showed Rampal tied with a rope near his father’s dead body. Police and several villagers were present at the scene.
Rampal can also be heard speaking in a confused manner, saying things like, "He kicked me just now. Look, he also hit me with a stick. I drank my father’s blood. My children are starving. Don’t be afraid; I will tell you everything."
Khajuraho SDOP Naveen Dubey confirmed that Rampal has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
