MP School Education Dept Heeds Rahul’s Advice |

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The State School Education Department is following the advice of Rahul Gandhi. There was a heated exchange between Home Minister Amit Shah and Rahul over their statements on the English language.

At an event, Shah said, “Those who speak English in the country will soon feel ashamed.” Reacting to Shah’s statement, Rahul said, “Speaking English is no shame. It’s strength. It is not a dam but a bridge.”

In today’s world, learning the English language is as important as learning one’s mother tongue, because learning English creates job opportunities and boosts confidence, Rahul said.

Every Indian child should learn English, he said. The School Education Department has begun to follow Rahul’s advice. Now, the department will teach English to the government English teachers.

The English Learning Training Institute, a state-level educational teaching training institute, will be asked to teach English to the teachers. A calendar has been set for the current academic session. How much English a teacher knows will also be assessed as part of the scheme.

Teacher training will also be held in villages and in the areas dominated by the tribal people. The School Education Department feels those who are teaching English in government schools lack proper knowledge of the language.

The children should have good command of English, and the department is launching the scheme with this idea. Nevertheless, all efforts made by the state government to promote Hindi have fallen through.

Now, the government wants children to have proper knowledge of the English language. The teachers will be imparted training in the English language so that the students of the government schools may have good command of the language like their counterparts in private schools.
