Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped after her mother dolled her up for a wedding in neighbourhood in Jabalpur. She was found with bloodstains on her clothes, police said on Monday.

The incident took place in the Majhgawan area of Jabalpur district.

Police have started an investigation and detained several suspects for questioning.

According to reports, the girl’s mother had dressed her up and sent her to attend a wedding in the village. When the girl did not return for a long time, her family began searching for her.

After some time, they found her crying with a young man. Bloodstains on the girl's clothes shocked the family, and they realised something terrible had happened.

Police from Majhgawan station arrived quickly after getting the information.

Some suspects have been detained based on suspicion, and the police hope to arrest the accused soon.

ASP Sharma said, "This is a very serious case. We are checking CCTV footage and investigating from all angles. We will catch the accused and take strict action."
