Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is expected to experience a sharp rise in temperatures over the next five days, with major cities including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior seeing a 2 to 5°C increase in day temperatures.

Other regions like Jabalpur, Chambal, Narmadapuram, Rewa, Shahdol, and Sagar will also feel the heat.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the recent spell of rain, hail, and strong winds caused by a western disturbance and cyclonic circulation has now weakened.

As a result, no rain is expected on April 4 and 5, though some cloud cover may remain in parts of the state. Temperatures will begin to climb, especially during the daytime.

Weather experts say that from April 8, another western disturbance is likely to become active, bringing back rain and thunderstorms in some parts of the state.

Weekly outlook:

First Week (April 1–7): Mild temperatures with light rain in some areas. No heatwave expected yet.

Second Week: Day temperatures may touch 41–43°C in some regions. Heatwave conditions possible for 2–3 days in Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa, and Sagar.

Third and Fourth Weeks: Strong heat conditions across the state. Daytime temperatures could reach 45°C in parts of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, and Rewa. Heatwaves (loo) may last 7 to 10 days in April.

April and May are expected to be the hottest months, with less rain and more heatwaves, especially in the last two weeks of April.

Authorities advise residents to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of water, and keep updated with weather alerts.
