Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two died and 25 passengers, including 9 children, injured after an overloaded tractor-trolley overturned in Morena. Four injured have been referred to Gwalior in critical condition.
Deceased has been identified as Munshi son Mangalia Jatav (50), his sister-in-law Pista Bai wife Puran Jatav (35) resident of Hatipura, Morena.
Over 30 people were travelling in tractor trolley to attend a religious function. The accident took place near Karah Dham in Noorabad police station area at around 11 pm on Sunday night. There were 30-35 people in the trolley.
According to the police, people of Hatipura and Rithonia villages of Kailaras police station area were going to attend a religious program at a relative's place in Banmor.
As soon as the tractor-trolley reached near Karh Dham Ashram, the driver lost control. The uncontrolled tractor-trolley overturned on the road. More than 30 people were trapped under it. People passing by stopped and pulled them out and then informed the police and ambulance.
Driver flees
After the accident, driver Khiladi Dhakad (40), resident of Hatipura, fled from the spot.
The injured were taken to the district hospital Morena, where three were referred to Gwalior as their condition was critical.
