Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Allegedly backed by a political heavyweight, a large group of around 60 people laid siege to the office of the renewable energy firm, RenNserv Global Limited, in Shajapur on Monday, seeking jobs. They allegedly stopped production, and the local police did not intervene, forcing the firm to contact the police headquarters, officials said here on Tuesday.
The company, owned by a political family from Delhi, complained to the DGP. Its state security head, Renu Bhatia, told ADG Raja Babu Singh that the group, led by Bhagwan Singh Rajput and Hariom Gothi, entered the office at around 1 pm on Monday. They captured the office, shutting down the production.
The firm reported the issue to Dial-100 and also to the local police station, but neither allegedly responded. The group also allegedly snatched the mobile phones of the security guards and pushed them out. The matter was also reported to the Shajapur SP, Yashpal Singh Rajput, but he also allegedly did not take action.
Bhatia alleged that the group was pressuring the company to give jobs to them on sundry posts, such as security guards, and was backed by a politician of the area.
The ADG told the Free Press that he had instructed the SP Shajapur to take strict action against the alleged lawbreakers, charging them under sections of trespassing.
