Katni (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Dileep Kumar Yadav has directed the officials to put up proper signals, blinkers and blinkers at the black spots in the city to check road accidents.
He directed the officials to install traffic lights at the Chaka bypass square. Yadav issued the directives at a meeting of road safety committee at the colletorate auditorium on Friday.
Superintendent of police Abhinay Viskwakarma, divisional forest officer Gaurav Sharma and other officials were present at the meeting. There are four black spots in the city which are Jhnijhiri Bilhari turn, bypass Chaka Square, Surkhi Tank, Saraswahi Square and Juhla bypass.
The officials were told to put up signals and speed breaker at those places to check accidents.There should be a big notice board at the Peer Baba bypass through which vehicles move from Katni to Jabalpur so that those who are coming the city and going to Maihar, Rewa, and Prayagraj may not have any problems.
Traffic inspector Rahul Pandey said there were deep ditches on the Panna Naka bypass in Indranagar. Because of the potholes, there happens to traffic gridlock on the road, Pandey said.
Soon after hearing the problem, Yadav directed the deputy commissioner of Nagar Nigam to get the ditches filled.
