Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A large group of angry residents, including women and children, broke liquor bottles and protested strongly against a wine shop opened in Jabalpur on Sunday.

A video of the incident was recorded and is now widely circulating on social media.

In the video, a few girls, men, and children can be seen throwing stones from the window of a house at liquor bottles kept inside the shop.

The incident took place in the Mohaniya area near Parashuram Basti.

Carrying stones in their hands, the protestors targeted the bottles seen through the shop’s window.

For the past several days, local people have been showing their anger over the opening of the liquor shop. Residents claim that the shop was opened against the rules and is causing many problems in the area.

Locals say that ever since the shop opened, criminal activities have increased, and cases of harassment against women have also gone up.

Despite several complaints and warnings, the authorities did not shut down the shop. As a result, women and children decided to take action themselves.

People from the area say they will not allow the liquor shop to run under any condition. Fearing the crowd’s anger, the shopkeeper ran away from the spot.

Protests are ongoing in the Parashuram Basti area, with residents demanding the removal of the liquor shop immediately.

Police reached the location after the incident to control the situation.
