Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): No legal action will be taken against Raah-Veer. They will be given legal protection and their information will be kept confidential, said PHQ officials here on Tuesday. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has launched Raah-Veer Yojana. Its objective is to encourage common citizens to help people injured in road accidents.
According to Motor Vehicles Act, 2019, no legal action can be taken against any Rah-Veer. The information given by Rah-Veer will be used only for the scheme and not for any other purpose.

Under the scheme, cash award of ₹25,000 and citation will be given. A person is eligible for the annual award for up to five times. If more than one Raah-Veer saves the life of a single victim, the amount will be divided equally.
If more than one Raah-Veer rescues more than one victim, ₹25,000 will be given for each victim, but maximum amount will be ₹25,000. 10 best Rah-Veers will be awarded every year at the national level with ₹1 lakh, trophy and certificate.
The scheme will be applicable only in serious accidents like brain, spinal injury, major operation, hospitalisation for at least 3 days or death.
