Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Anjali Rawat from Madhya Pradesh clinched the gold medal in Thang-Ta (Phunaba Ama 56 kg category) at Khelo India Youth Games 2025.
Madhya Pradesh players won 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals on Wednesday in the competition, organised in major cities of Bihar as well as in New Delhi from May 4 to 15.
Satyam Dangi bagged the silver medal in the Phunaba Anisuba 56 kg category. Jasrit Naur secured the silver medal after tough matches in boxing (60-65 kg category).
In the wrestling event, Himanshu Rathore got the bronze medal in the 71 kg Greco Roman category while Nishit Jaiswal bagged the silver medal in the 65kg freestyle category.
The Thang-Ta team was awarded the runner-up trophy for their collective performance, which reflects their hard work and dedication in the traditional martial art.
‘Start preparing for Khelo MP Youth Games’
The state sports and youth welfare minister Vishvas Sarang on Wednesday issued directives to prepare for Khelo MP Youth Games. He also asked officials to prepare a schedule and hold a committee meeting in this regard.
The minister was reviewing the activities of sports and youth welfare department at Tatya Tope Sports Stadium. The minister asked officials to prepare performance chart of the players of sports academies and do their counselling. He instructed officials to focus on traditional sports at the development block level. Sarang also directed to organise a competition of players before the end of the summer camp.
