Bhopal Cop Critical After Grenade Blasts During Mock Drill

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two police personnel were injured during a mock drill in Bhopal when a hand grenade accidentally exploded on May 7.

The incident, which occurred at the 25th Battalion unexpectedly during the training exercise, left one officer critically injured and receiving intensive medical care.

According to information, the injured policemen have been identified as Head Constable Vishal Singh and Constable Santosh Kumar.

Both were immediately rushed to Bansal Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Doctors have said that Vishal Singh’s condition is critical

The explosion took place during a routine mock drill conducted to test the emergency preparedness of people during war like situation between India and Pakistan.

During the drill, a grenade exploded unexpectedly, causing panic in the area. The loud blast was heard across nearby localities, and people feared that it might be a real attack.

Following the accident, the Police Headquarters has ordered an investigation. A high-level committee may be formed to look into what went wrong and whether there were lapses in safety protocols during the drill.

Both injured policemen were admitted to the emergency ward and a team of specialist doctors is treating them. The hospital has confirmed that Vishal Singh remains in critical condition, and all efforts are being made to stabilize him.
