Madhya Pradesh: Artist’s Bold & Unique Protest at Gwalior's Intersection Highlights Traffic Chaos, Painting Questions Administration |

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An artist in Jabalpur has taken a bold step to protest the ongoing traffic mess by creating a large street painting near the busy Ranital intersection.

Abhishek Gupta, a well-known portrait artist in the city, took to the streets with a large and striking painting that highlights the severe traffic congestion and questions the current state of the traffic system.

Traffic congestion at Ranital intersection in Jabalpur has completely collapsed for the past few days which has sparked widespread concern among the resident.

Painter Abhishek Gupta has been sitting in the middle of chaotic intersection for the last 48 hours and painting the traffic chaos on a huge canvas.

His painting reflects the the confusion and danger of daily commutes through the area. He has carved artistic images of Yamraj and a bull along with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, local MLA Abhilash Pandey, Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay and Collector Deepak Saxena in the police administration.

Below the faces is a road accident victim lying on the road. He says that every time while passing through this intersection, he was afraid that some accident might happen, so he decided to raise his voice through his art.

The artist said ,“I have seen many minor accidents happen here, even while I was painting. I didn’t spot a single policeman on duty in two days. If the authorities won’t act, then I’ll speak through my art,”

According to the protesters and passersby, five to six roads meet at the intersection, due to which there is always congestion. On top of that, the situation has become worse due to the bridge construction work.

A large number of people are gathering to see this creative protest of Abhishek Gupta. A young passerby named Sevi Singh said that the artist's efforts are commendable, because it sends a direct message to the administration. At the same time, some people believe that such a demonstration can create more obstacles in traffic.

So far, there has been no official response from the local administration or the police department on this demonstration, but this issue has become the center of discussion in the city regarding the poor condition of Ranital intersection. Now it will be interesting to see whether the administration takes any concrete steps after this unique protest or not.
