Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A horrific incident was reported in Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj, where a woman's saree got stuck in a flour mill and she was crushed to death. The 15-horsepower motor of the mill dragged her in, chopping her body into several pieces within less than a minute.
The accident happened in Sengarwar Kurmiyan village under Mauganj on Wednesday evening.
The woman, Ramrati (42), used to assist her husband, Ramnarayan Patel, in their oil and flour mill. The couple was working daily when the woman was handing over oil to a customer, and her saree’s pallu accidentally got entangled in the moving belt. Before anyone could respond or shut down the machine, she was pulled in completely.
Hearing her cries, nearby residents and family members rushed to the spot. The police from Naigadhi station were informed immediately. Head Constable Rakesh Kumar Singh said the woman’s mutilated body was taken to the mortuary at Naigadhi Community Health Centre.
Ramrati is survived by her husband, three daughters, and a son. The couple had started the mill business eight years ago. The sudden and shocking death of Ramrati has left the entire village stunned and grieving, while police have begun formal proceedings following the incident.
