Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A street dog was brutally beaten with an iron rod by a man on Tuesday in Gwalior, claiming the dog was responsible for his grandfather's head injury.

The whole incident was recorded in a video, which is now circulating widely on social media.

Check out the video below :

In the video, the man can be seen going upstairs with his pet dog while arguing with a woman standing above. As the street dog barked, he suddenly started beating it with an iron rod, and then confidently said, "Maine maara hai" (I hit it).

According to information, the incident took place in the Hem Singh Parade area, under the Madhav Ganj police station limits.

The attacker, identified as Nanu Rathore, was caught on camera brutally beating the helpless dog while it lay asleep on the stairs. The woman who witnessed the act recorded the disturbing video on her phone.

Even when bystanders tried to intervene, Nanu remained unapologetic and told them to go ahead and file a police complaint. He justified his actions by saying that the dog had caused his grandfather to fall and suffer a head injury.

After the video went viral, the woman who recorded it filed a formal complaint with the police.

Authorities have registered a case against Nanu Rathore and launched an investigation.

The injured dog is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in serious condition.
