Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): Former MLA from Kolaras Virendra Raghuvanshi has resigned from the primary membership of Congress. He wrote a resignation letter to the party, citing health issues.
Notably, Raghuvanshi left BJP and joined Congress in front of then PCC President Kamal Nath in September 2023. He was then the Kolaras BJP MLA.
When the former MLA was contacted over the phone to know about the reason behind resign, he said that “my health is not good, so I have withdrawn my political steps.” He said now he will live a social and spiritual life.

Regarding the current environment of the parties, he said that “now there is no such environment here. Now either there are no parties left worthy of me or I am not left for political parties. I am also not able to understand this. Due to this I have made up my mind to stay away from politics. Now I will not go to any party.”
MLA Virendra Raghuvanshi started his political career with Congress. He became MLA for the first time by winning the 2007 by-election from Shivpuri Assembly.
Holding his own senior leaders responsible for the defeat in the 2008 and 2013 assembly elections, Virendra Raghuvanshi resigned from the Congress in 2014.
After this he joined the BJP. In the 2018 assembly elections, he was elected MLA from Kolaras Assembly on a BJP ticket. However, before completing 5 years of MLA, he joined the Congress in 2023.
He expressed his pain while talking to the press. He had said that the people because of whom I left the Congress, the same people were joining the BJP and creating obstacles in the development work.
