Datia (Madhya Pradesh): A couple was allegedly kidnapped by their own family members for marrying against their wishes near a Hotel in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda district on Tuesday.

The entire incident of attempted kidnapping was caught on CCTV near Haveli Hotel on Chipaner Road in Harda district.

Accrding to information, the incident involved a young man, Surendra Ahirwar, and a young woman, Varsha Ahirwar who were allegedly targeted by their own family members. The couple were residents of Sadwara village in Datia district.

According to sources, Surendra and Varsha were inside the hotel when a group of people who are believed to be their relatives, arrived in a Safari vehicle and tried to kidnap them.

The entire situation was recorded on the hotel's CCTV camera which created panic and drawn public attention in the area.

The Harda police immediately reached the scene and started an investigation. The police are currently reviewing the CCTV footage and taking statements from those who are supposed to be involved.

Both Surendra and Varsha stated that they are adults and have married of their own free will. They have appealed for protection and recognition of their right to live together.

The case appears to be rooted in family opposition to their marriage. Authorities have confirmed that they are treating the matter seriously and will take appropriate legal action based on the evidence gathered.
