Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Aiming to relieve citizens of traffic jam at main crossings and routes, traffic police officials will identify factors, which are responsible for obstructing the movement of vehicles. Police commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra on Wednesday issued instructions to traffic police officials in this connection.

Traffic police officials said crossings and routes across the city, which are facing the traffic jam problems, would be identified. A study will be carried out at these places to identify factors, which are causing traffic jams. The factors may include less space, poor roads, encroachments, permanent or temporary obstructions, which is slowing down traffic, absence of traffic signal or boards.

The factors may be related to different departments for which their assistance will be taken, officials said. According to Mishra, factors responsible for traffic jams will be identified and meetings will be conducted with concerned departments to work out the issues.

Efforts will also be made for raising awareness among people to make them follow traffic rules. It is worth mentioning that traffic jams often occur at Board Office, Pragati Petrol Pump Crossing, Roshanpura Crossing, Jehangirabad, Royal Market, Bhopal Talkies, Iqbal Maidan and some other areas of Old City.
