Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Minister Vijay Shah has got relief from the Supreme Court for his comments on Colonel Sofia Qureshi.
An SC bench comprising Justice JJ Suryakant and Justice Deepankar Dutta gave him relief during the hearing of the case on Wednesday.
The apex court will hear the case on July 28. The judges said the high court was requested not to hear the case together with the SC. Now, the HC, which has fixed June 16 for hearing the case, will not hear it.
The police were asked to submit a report on the FIR that lacked proper documents. Now, after the SC’s order, the police have also heaved a sigh of relief.
The apex also decided to maintain the stay on Shah’s arrest. SC said the SIT had submitted its preliminary report and sought time for investigation.

SIT members went to Mhow to gather information about Shah’s statement. The minister made the statement at a public meeting in Mhow.
The probe team members collected the statements of seven people and some evidence, including the mobile phones of those who made the video of the event.
SIT has the video and the statement of Shah transcribed. When the SIT sought some more time for investigation, the court granted it.
High Court judges Atul Shridharan and Anuradha Shukla issued an order for registering an FIR against Shah for his statement against Colonel Qureshi. The SC will deal with the case.
SIT did not take Shah’s statement, Demand for resignation to end
The pressure on minister Vijay Shah for resignation will end after the Supreme Court orders.
In the name of the SIT investigation, he will stick to his chair. Besides, there will be no problem for him because of the SC stay on his arrest. SIT has yet to take Shah’s statement.
