Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday inaugurated the “Environment Coordination” training workshop at Ravindra Bhavan. He emphasised the state government aims to integrate infrastructure development with environmental protection.
CM also highlighted that road construction projects are now being designed according to the nature and quality of the soil to have a balance between progress and nature.
During the event, a short film showcasing the Public Works Department’s infrastructure and development works was screened. Yadav compared environment coordination and public works to the sun and moon, each fulfilling their roles in harmony. He noted that India’s architectural heritage, such as Bhopal’s Bada Talab reflects centuries-old sustainable practices.
The Chief Minister shared that in several projects, environmental preservation has been a priority with innovative techniques applied in road construction. Where soil strength is weak, cement concrete roads are replacing asphalt roads to enhance durability.
CM recalled that two decades ago, houses were built to remain comfortable in all seasons without harming the environment. He also told about importance of quality, cost-effectiveness, purity and transparency in current development works.
Yadav also referenced Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s philosophy of Ekatma Manav Darshan, marking its 60th year and drew parallels between the human body and nature. “In one day, one lakh cells die, yet life continues. Likewise, all departments must think innovatively to align with nature,” he said.
The workshop aimed to enhance engineers and planners’ awareness of eco-friendly construction methods, which promotes a future where development and environmental care move together.
