Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Good news for passengers flying from Bhopal as the Raja Bhoj International Airport is all set to welcome the Digi Yatra system by March. The announcement was made after the airport authorities placed an order for the required equipment.

The equipment is expected to arrive by early January and the installation will begin after all due checks and verification. If all trails go as expected, the Digi Yatra system will be up and working by early March. The Digi Yatra entry system is already in use at the DABH Airport in Indore.

What is Digi Yatra?

Digi Yatra is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at easing the air travel experience by introducing a seamless and contactless journey through facial recognition technology (FRT). It integrates passenger data with their biometric information to simplify airport procedures and enhance security.

Digi Yatra Enrollment and Process

To use Digi Yatra, passengers must enroll via the Digi Yatra app by providing:

Name

Email ID

Mobile Number

Identity Details (e.g., Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhaar).

After submission, a Digi Yatra ID is generated, which can be quoted while booking tickets.

How Digi Yatra Works

At Entry Gates: Passengers scan their boarding pass or e-ticket (either printed or on mobile) at the E-Gate.

Verification: The system validates passenger and flight details using the barcode/QR code.

Facial Recognition: The Digi Yatra ID confirms identity via face recognition.

E-Gate Access: Upon successful verification, the e-Gate opens, allowing entry.

The system creates a single token by linking the passenger’s face with their ticket PNR, enabling seamless access to security checks and boarding through facial recognition at all airport checkpoints.
