Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Ayodhya Nagar police on Thursday arrested a notorious criminal and his aide who assaulted and critically injured a youth for talking to the girlfriend of one of the accused.
The prime accused has 44 criminal cases registered against him at different police stations of the city, police said.
The complainant Rekha Sharma informed police that his son Lalit, aka Shubham Sharma was at his home in Rajiv Nagar area on July 2 when Rohit Lodhi aka Rohit Kabadi barged inside with his aide Prithvi Singh.
Rohit accused Shubham of talking to his girlfriend and assaulted him brutally with a cricket bat. The accused left Shubham assuming him to be dead. Shubham’s mother took him to Ujjain for treatment where he regained consciousness after three days.
Additional DCP Mahaveer Singh Mujalde said police teams arrested Rahul Kabadi (34) and his aide Prithvi Singh (28) of Ashoka Garden area. The cricket bat used in the crime has also been seized, he added.
Cops take out parade
Police took out a public parade of the notorious criminals after their arrest in Rajiv Nagar area. Police officials said that Rohit Lodhi hails from Ujjain. He earlier used to run a fast food kiosk but now supplies medicines to chemists.
He has 44 criminal cases including that of arms act, National Security Act etc registered against him at Ashoka Garden, Habibganj, Talaiya and Mangalwara police stations. Prithivi Singh hails from Balia district of UP and has three criminal cases against him.
