Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The police have pulled out all the stops, with five teams carrying out raids for the arrest of the culprits in last Saturday’s murder of a youth at Chhola Mandir.
Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra has announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for the arrest, even as he confirmed that five police teams were carrying out raids.
Aishbagh resident Amit Verma (22) was gunned down during a birthday party at Raja Khatik’s home. It is alleged that Naseem Banne Khan, his aide Waseem, and four other persons reached Leeladhar Colony on bikes and sprayed bullets while targeting Raja Khatik. The bullets hit Amit in the head and abdomen, killing him on the spot.
Police officials said that both Amit and Raja have criminal records. Raja is the alleged mastermind of a loot at Shyamla Hills.
Raja and Naseem were accomplices in crimes earlier. However, the duo allegedly developed differences recently following a monetary dispute. Waseem and Raja had been enemies since the latter allegedly took his brother’s name during police interrogation in a loot case.
Meanwhile, teams have been sent to Naseem’s native place in Shujalpur and his other possible hideouts, officials added. It has also come to the fore that Naseem and his aides first created a ruckus while brandishingswords on VIP Road before they committed the murder.
The miscreants then reached the Mother India Colony in the Shahjahanabad area, where they threatened Naseem’s alleged girlfriend.
A video of Naseem brandishing a sword near the statue of Raja Bhoj also went viral on social media platforms. Separate cases have been registered at the Koh-e-Fiza and Shahjahanabad police stations in both incidents, police officials said.
Accused active on social media
An alleged shooter of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, Naseem Banne Khan, and his gang members were active on social media. There are two accounts on Facebook and Instagram in the name of Naseem.
On one of these accounts, some videos of a railway junction and then of a moving train were uploaded hours ago, indicating that Naseem may have fled the city. In one of his earlier posts, Naseem uploaded a video of himself and other gang members while being taken to the district court. Naseem allegedly tried to copy the style of Bishnoi and other gangsters while being escorted.
