Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 19-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his elder brother in Bhopal after a fight over a pair of jeans on Sunday.
The tragic incident took place late Sunday night. The accused, 22-year-old Omkar Giri, was arrested near Bhopal Railway Station while trying to run away from the city.

According to police, the victim, Vivek Giri, had returned home wearing Omkar’s jeans, which led to a heated argument. Both brothers worked as waiters at wedding events and lived with their father, Munna Giri, a 55-year-old widower.
The fight began around 1 AM and moved in and out of the house. In a fit of rage, Omkar picked up a kitchen knife and attacked Vivek, slashing his throat. Vivek died on the spot.
The body remained inside the house for several hours. Neighbours heard loud cries around 5:30 AM and rushed to help. “We saw the father crying and in shock,” said Deepak Pal, a neighbour. The police were informed and reached the spot soon after.

Police revealed that the brothers had a history of fights and had visited the police station several times in the past with complaints against each other.
During questioning, Omkar claimed that Vivek often wore his clothes without permission and misbehaved when told not to.
Police arrested Omkar based on a tip-off and registered a case of murder. Investigations are ongoing.
The father’s role is also being looked into, as he reportedly delayed informing anyone about the incident.
