Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death while trying to stop a fight in Jabalpur or Sunday.
The incident is of the Civil Lines area of Jabalpur on the evening of May 25.
The victim, Abhishek Kol, was attacked with a knife when he tried to intervene during a dispute in his neighborhood.

Abhishek’s younger brother, Ashutosh Kol (21), told police that he works as a painter. On the evening of the incident, around 6–7 PM, he had gone to a nearby shop to buy a packet of Rajshree (tobacco). While returning, he heard shouting and abusive language from the street and rushed to the spot. There, he found his brother Abhishek lying on the ground in a pool of blood, with their mother sitting nearby.
According to police, Abhishek was rushed to Victoria Hospital by his family, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Civil Lines police station in-charge Ritesh Pandey and his team reached the hospital after receiving information about the incident.
Eyewitness Udit Kol told Ashutosh that the attacker, Sonu Kol, had lost money in gambling and started abusing others in anger. When people tried to stop him from shouting, Sonu slapped Ashutosh and pulled out a knife.

Abhishek Kol and another local youth, Sanjeev Namdev, tried to stop the fight. But Sonu stabbed Abhishek in the stomach. Abhishek fell to the ground, seriously injured.
Sonu then also attacked Sanjeev Namdev and another youth named Bedi, injuring both.
Jabalpur Police have registered a case of murder against Sonu Kol, a resident of Richhai, under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code.
Superintendent of Police, Sampat Upadhyay, has taken the matter seriously and ordered the immediate arrest of the accused.
Under the guidance of Additional SP Anand Kaladgi, a special team led by SHO Ritesh Pandey has been formed to search for Sonu, who is currently on the run. Efforts to catch him have been intensified.
