Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Damoh police have requested permission from the Police Headquarters (PHQ) to conduct a psychological test on Dr. Narendra Yadav, also known as Dr. N John Camm. The request follows his arrest on charges related to the deaths of seven patients.

On April 17, Damoh police arrested the accused from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, after an FIR was filed against him. The complaint, lodged by the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) MK Jain, accuses Dr. Yadav of possessing a fake medical degree, along with charges of forgery and dishonest misappropriation.

The police claim that the doctor’s statements have been inconsistent, and he is allegedly responsible for performing surgeries on cardio patients, seven of whom later died. Despite the serious allegations, authorities say the doctor remains calm and normal in his behaviour.

SP Shrut Kirti Somwanshi told Free Press, "I have written a letter to PHQ requesting permission to conduct a psychological test on Dr. Narendra Yadav." He said that the test could be carried out at one of two institutions in the country, one of which is in Ahmedabad. These institutes charge a fee for the test. Once the PHQ grants approval, the police will file an application in court for permission to conduct the test.

Remand extended

On Sunday, the Damoh court extended Dr. Yadav’s police remand for four more days. This extension follows an earlier remand order issued on April 8.The SP said that the interrogation will focus on questions raised by the CMHO in his complaint.
