Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of mental health patients.
For this, Orange Neurosciences, a Canadian company working in the field of Artificial Intelligence, has signed an agreement with BMHRC.
Director-in-charge Dr Manisha Srivastava said, "Traditional methods like talking, filling forms, counseling etc. are used for identification and treatment of mental patients all over the world. Through this process, it often takes a lot of time to identify the mental illness or problem of the patient."
He continued, "The patient coming to the hospital repeatedly is also a challenge in itself. Now, such AI tools or web-based platforms have been developed, which help in understanding the disease of the patient. These tools are like video games. Based on the symptoms of the patient, the patient is allowed to use the application of the relevant AI tools."
"During this time, this application records every activity of the patient. After the session is completed, this application analyzes the patient's activity and gives its results accordingly. With the help of these AI tools, many diseases like depression, attention deficit hyper disorder, autism, dyslexia etc. can be treated,” he concluded.
