Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Cyber Crime Branch has issued an advisory to students and public, warning them against falling prey to fraudulent offers of leaked question papers related to MP Board exams. The alert comes after cyber-crime officials found that several people were trying to sell leaked question papers through popular platforms like Telegram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

Shailendra Singh Chauhan, ACP(Crime), said that cyber fraudsters are known to become active as the MP Board exams approach. They lure students with false promises of providing leaked question papers. However, he said that joining such groups or attempting to procure question papers before the examination is a serious criminal offence.

“Strict action will be taken against those who create such fraudulent groups, as well as their members,” Chauhan said. The police also cautioned students and public to be vigilant and refrain from believing rumours or offers of leaked papers circulating on social media. They urged people to report any suspicious messages immediately to the cyber-crime helpline.

Last year, several people were arrested following complaints about fraudulent activities involving the sale of leaked question papers for the MP Board exams. Cyber-crime officials said that at least five Telegram channels had been identified, where students were misled with promises of leaked exam papers.
