Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The BJP has sought names from the districts for the first time for political appointments. The party has received the names from its district unit presidents. More names are being sought on the basis of opinions.

The district presidents have sent four names. The party’s state organisation will take feedback on those names from the districts after receiving the names from the presidents and on the basis of opinions.

After the process, the names will be finalised for appointments in corporations, boards and commissions. The names are also being sought from districts for public participation committees in colleges and Deendayal Antyodaya Samitis.

On the basis of the names received from the districts, such appointments will be made. The BJP has decided for the first time that all districts should be represented in political appointments.

It sometimes happens that many leaders from a single district get appointments in corporations and boards, and some districts do not get any representation at all. To end this disparity, all districts will be represented in the political appointments.

According to sources in the BJP, the plans are afoot to release the first list of political appointments by the end of this month or next month. Along with the political appointments, the state executive committee will be formed. The BJP leaders plan to finish the work early.

During the tenure of the party’s former president of the state, VD Sharma, a list of political appointments was prepared. Nevertheless, after the change in the party organisation, efforts are underway to prepare another list.

At a meeting, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, BJP’s state unit president Hemant Khandelwal, organisational general secretary Hitanand Sharma, and the party’s state in-charge Mahendra Singh decided to seek names from the districts before making political appointments.

They decided that all political appointments should be made after examining those names.

Confusion over legislators, leaders who lost elections

There is a dilemma in the party over the political appointments of the legislators and those leaders who lost elections. Resentment is brewing in the party over appointments of those who had been given tickets but lost the election. The senior BJP leaders say those who were not given tickets for elections should get priority in political appointments.
