Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The elder brother of Madhya Pradesh’s Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Devendra Singh Tomar passed away after battling a prolonged illness on Sunday night.
He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Gwalior and was being shifted to Hyderabad via air ambulance for advanced medical care on Sunday evening.

Air ambulance made emergency landing
However, his health deteriorated mid-way during the journey after which his air-ambulance had to make an emergency landing at Raja Bhoj International Airport around 5:30 PM on Sunday.
After the landing, he was immediately rushed to Bhopal’s Chirayu Hospital on doctors' advice.
Despite the efforts to stabilize his condition, Devendra Singh Tomar sadly passed away. His last rites will be performed in Gwalior today (on Monday).
Airport Director Ramji Awasthi confirmed the emergency landing, stating that it was arranged promptly due to the patient's critical condition.
Had severe lung infection
According to information, Devendra Tomar had a severe lung infection. He was recently admitted to Apollo Hospital in Gwalior, where his condition began deteriorating since Saturday night.
Was political mentor for younger brother
BJP leader Devendra Tomar was a three-time elected councilor in the Municipal Corporation Council. In 2009, he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the council. He is survived by a daughter and a son. His daughter is a judge, while his son manages a restaurant.
Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar regarded his elder brother, Devendra Tomar, as his political mentor.
The news has brought grief to the region, with condolences pouring in for the family.
