Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India, has positively impacted the lives of over 8 lakh women through its various social initiatives. Focused on key areas such as healthcare, education, skill development, and economic empowerment, these programs align with Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Creating Shared Value – CONTINUE.’ Under its core pillars of Earth, Mobility, and Hope, HMIF aims to drive long-term social progress by promoting self-reliance and better livelihood opportunities for women across the country.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative is bringing essential healthcare services to remote areas through Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and Telemedicine Centres. Aimed at making healthcare more accessible, the program has provided medical consultations to over 77,000 women across 52 telemedicine centers and 10 MMUs in states like Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, and Karnataka. Since 2024, it has expanded its efforts by conducting awareness camps on menstrual hygiene, women and child health, and cervical cancer screening, benefiting over 4,500 women through early detection and preventive care.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s Livelihood Support Program is empowering rural women in Tamil Nadu by fostering financial independence and skill development. Operating across six districts—Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Ranipettai, and Vellore—the initiative has helped over 700 women collectively generate an annual income of Rs 6.7 crore. With an additional monthly household income of Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000, the program has positively impacted over 3,000 lives. HMIF provides beneficiaries with resources such as cattle, along with training in financial literacy, tailoring, embroidery, juice shops, and oil pressing. Regular refresher courses and exposure visits further enhance their skills, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s Drive4Progress Driver Training Program is helping women gain financial independence by equipping them with commercial driving skills. The initiative focuses on training, upskilling, and creating long-term employment opportunities. So far, 186 women have completed the program, with 55 securing jobs, while 70 more are currently undergoing training. To further enhance their confidence and safety, over 50 women have also received self-defense training. By providing practical skills and career support, the program is paving the way for women to enter the workforce and achieve sustainable livelihoods.
