As someone who has witnessed the evolution of our great nation over the last four decades, I, Mohit Kamboj, stand today with immense pride in the face of a historic shift. The recent cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam—once a haven of peace and beauty—reminded us of the painful chapters of our past, where India was often seen as a soft target. But today, we are no longer that India. We are stronger, bolder, and more united than ever before.
The attack, carried out by Pakistan-supported terrorist groups, was not just an assault on innocent devotees—it was an attack on our collective national spirit. However, unlike previous decades where diplomatic restraint often overshadowed military action, this New India responded with measured yet powerful force. It was a calibrated assertion of sovereignty—not an act of war, but a declaration that India will not bleed silently anymore.
India’s swift and strategic military operations targeting terror infrastructure across the border exemplified ‘controlled aggression’—an evolved doctrine that balances moral authority with tactical prowess. These actions were backed by airtight intelligence, global diplomatic engagement, and a composed leadership. There was no need for empty bravado; our actions spoke louder than any words ever could.
Having seen our country struggle through the shadows of 26/11, the Pulwama attack, and many such instances, this transformation is nothing short of remarkable. Our armed forces today are equipped, empowered, and entrusted to respond decisively. The government has ensured that diplomacy and defence now walk hand in hand. The international community took note—not just of our retaliation, but our restraint and responsibility.
I recall a time when provocations would result in long-winded debates and UN appeals. Today, a single mortar from across the border is answered with an iron fist—but only if provoked. This is the hallmark of a mature nation: a desire for peace, paired with an unshakable will to defend itself when pushed.

Let there be no doubt—India seeks harmony, not hostility. But if terror groups, aided and abetted by rogue regimes, believe they can destabilize our unity, they will find a New India that retaliates with unmatched strength. We no longer tolerate, we retaliate. We no longer plead, we prepare.
To the people of India, this is a time to stand shoulder-to-shoulder. The days of helplessness are behind us. Today, every Indian feels safer, stronger, and more assured—not just because of our military might, but because of the leadership that puts national interest above all.
