Most of us would agree that we have spent a large part of our lives searching for love, and it appears that we may do so for the rest of our lives as well. However, in this whole journey of life, we probably miss one of the biggest secrets—that love is already within all of us, and it can never get lost. It is not something external that we must chase; rather, it is an intrinsic part of our being, waiting to be recognised and nurtured. So where is the question of looking for it anywhere outside?

Most of us would agree that love is wonderful and necessary, yet none can agree on what it is. This is because we talk about love in such a sloppy manner that it can mean almost nothing or absolutely everything. We mistakenly believe that to find and know love, we have to acquire something or someone. With these kinds of wrong beliefs, we turn love into a commodity.

This often leads to expectations, attachments, and disappointments because we associate love with possession rather than pure emotion. We expect love to be given to us, failing to understand that it flourishes only when it is freely shared. And yet, we all have experienced that pure feeling when we do or give something to someone that expresses our care without any desire to get anything in return.

This is love in action, and in such moments, we may realise—love is what we are. The idea that we are love itself is not new. However, the paradox is that we can never know this for sure until we give it away unconditionally. That’s why it is said, ‘you cannot feel love until you give it away.’ Remember! We do not have to love; we choose to love.

That’s why it is rightly said that "love makes the world go round." It bridges gaps, heals wounds, and gives meaning to our existence. Without love, we can neither see the beauty in creation nor can we find our inner beauty. At its core, love is not just an emotion but a state of being. When we truly embrace it, we radiate positivity and transform not just ourselves but also those around us. After all, love is what we are all about. That is why Mahatma Gandhi has rightly said, "Where there is love, there is life."
